Tandur

Origin: India | Available

Tandur Limestone (internationally recognized as Tandur Blue, Tandur Grey, Tandur Yellow, or Shahabad Stone) is quarried in the Tandur region of the Vikarabad district (Telangana) and adjacent parts of Karnataka, India. Unlike Kota stone from Rajasthan or Kadappa from Andhra Pradesh, Tandur Limestone is celebrated for its natural split cleavage that yields an exceptionally flat, smooth-riven surface. It is exported in substantial volumes to the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, and the Middle East for both contemporary outdoor landscaping and hard-wearing interior architectural flooring.

Architectural Character & Usage

Bring understated European elegance to garden terraces with our Tandur Blue Calibrated Limestone Paving. Sourced from the quarries of Southern India, these slabs feature a naturally smooth, flat-riven surface paired with precision diamond-sawn straight edges for tight 3–5 mm jointing. Calibrated to a uniform 22 mm thickness for fast, level installation on full mortar beds, Tandur Blue displays a balanced mix of steel grey and slate blue-green tones. With water absorption under 0.7% and certified frost resistance, it offers a sophisticated, cost-effective alternative to domestic European bluestone.
